New El-Alamein City to see EGP 300m projects in November - Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s minister of housing, utilities and urban development, Mostafa Madbouli, on Monday said that the government will start implementing 15 towers in New El-Alamein City by the beginning of October.

About 1,920 housing units are currently being finalised as a part of the distinct housing project in El-Alamein, Madbouli added in a statement.

These works will cost EGP 300 million and provide about 8,000 job opportunities, the minister highlighted.

Meanwhile, vice chairman of New Urban Communities Authority (NUCA), Abdel Moteleb Mamdouh, stressed that 600 metres of the city’s walkway have been executed, adding that a water desalination plant, with a production capacity of 150,000 square metres per day, is currently under construction.

The execution of the city’s infrastructure will cost EGP 2.3 billion and will include the construction of 110 kilometres of roads and 100 kilometres of water feeding networks, Mamdouh noted.

Total job opportunities provided by the New El-Alamein City’s projects have reached 10,200 jobs, including 2,200 jobs provided by infrastructure projects, he added.
