Doha – Mubasher: The issuance of the Arbitration Law aims at turning Qatar into an international centre for commercial arbitration, the CEO of the Qatar International Court and Dispute Resolution Centre (QICDRC) Faisal Al Sahouti said.
The launch of a committee of practitioners in arbitration has been announced, which will be hosted by the QICDRC in coordination with the relevant authorities in Qatar, Al Sahouti added.
In late March, the new Arbitration Law, which was recently passed, extended the jurisdiction of the QICDRC to oversee arbitration in Qatar, the CEO of Qatar Financial Centre, Yousuf Mohamed Al Jaida, confirmed, pointing out that the law will be useful for international companies operating in the country.
