Mubasher: Japan’s Nikkei index closed Monday in the green territory, amid a rise in industrial production in November on an annual basis.
The Japanese Ministry of Economy, Trade, and Industry said today that the country’s Industrial Production Index (IPI) moved up 1.6% in November 2015, compared to 1.4% in the same month last year.
However, the IPI fell by 1% in November this year, versus 1.4% in the same month last year.
Meanwhile, retail volume dropped 2.5% month-on-month, and 1% year-on-year.
The Nikkei index closed with a rise of 0.56% to the level of 18,873.35 points, and the broader Topix index increased 0.9% to 1,529.22 points.
Also, the JPX-Nikkei Index 400 rose 0.8% to the level of 13,796.98 points.
