Mubasher: The Nikkei average declined for the sixth straight session on Tuesday.
The Nikkei fell 2.71% to 17,218.96, the lowest closing level since September 2015.
The Topix lost 3.1% to close at 1,401 points.
The JPX-Nikkei Index 400 decreased 3.1% to reach 12,624.58 points.
