Doha – Mubasher: Qatar’s Ministry of Interior (MOI) on Sunday stated that it will not take any “actions against residents” of the countries which broke diplomatic relations with Qatar.
Qatar is trying to avoid political rifts with states and governments when dealing with their citizens, according to an official statement released by the MOI.
Those people are free to stay in Qatar in accordance with their work contracts with Qatar, their entry visa, and after their country’s approval.
“Qatar did not take any measures against its residents who hold the nationalities of brotherly and friendly countries that severed diplomatic ties or lowered diplomatic representations with Qatar, on the back of hostile and tendentious campaigns against the country,” the MOI statement highlighted.
Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE on Friday listed 59 individuals and 12 entities on their banned lists because of terrorism allegations, to be updated and announced in the future.
These Arab countries said that Qatar has suspicious agendas owing to its contradictory policy of fighting terrorism on the one hand, and financing, supporting, and sheltering various terrorist organisations on the other.
On Monday, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Bahrain, and the UAE broke their diplomatic relations with Qatar after the Qatari Emir's statements, which were described by Qatar’s foreign minister as "fabricated".
