No additional fuel price hike planned in FY17/18 - Minister

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian minister of finance, Amr Al-Garhy, said that there are no plans to raise fuel prices in fiscal year 2017/2018.

In TV statements, Al-Garhy added that energy subsidies will be reduced gradually over the next three to five years.

Last Thursday, the Cabinet approved the increase of fuel prices. The price of 92-octane gasoline increased to EGP 5 per litre from EGP 3.5 per litre, while diesel and 80-octane gasoline increased to EGP 3.65 per litre from EGP 2.35 per litre.
