No cases of coronavirus in Saudi Arabia – Ministry

Riyadh – Mubasher: The Saudi Ministry of Health said on Monday that there have not been any recorded cases infected with the new coronavirus in Saudi Arabia.

The ministry revealed on Twitter that 10 Saudi students coming from the Chinese city of Wuhan, where the virus is believed to have originated, have all tested negative for the virus. Nonetheless, they will be kept in a precautionary quarantine, under medical supervision, to conduct the needed checks and ensure their wellbeing.

More than 14,380 cases with the coronavirus have been recorded in China, while a combined total of 175 cases have been announced in 27 other countries, according to the World Health Organization (WHO).

The death toll from the coronavirus has now exceeded 360 cases, surpassing that of the severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) outbreak that totalled 349 people. On a more positive note, 475 recoveries have been reported in China, which means that the fatality rate of the virus is relatively low.
