No coronavirus cases among Egyptians in Kuwait - Ambassador

Cairo - Mubasher: The Egyptian ambassador to Kuwait Tarek El-Qouny on Monday asserted that the embassy is following up the latest developments in the coronavirus (COVID-19) crisis since the announcement of several virus infections in Kuwait, Middle East News Agency (MENA) reported.

He stressed that Kuwaiti authorities have neither detected any coronavirus cases among Egyptian expats in Kuwait nor has it found any suspected cases of Egyptians arriving at Kuwait's points of entry until the moment.

The embassy is collaborating with the Kuwaiti government in this respect, particularly after announcing that all people arriving from Egypt will be examined at ports and airports.

Moreover, the ambassador has called upon Egyptians in Kuwait to abide by all related precautionary instructions and avoid gatherings and crowded areas.

The embassy undertook some preventative procedures so as to guarantee the continuation of service to the Egyptian community, El-Qouny noted.

It is noteworthy that on Sunday, the Egyptian health ministry announced the country's second case with the novel virus for a foreigner but denied news reports about sending two suspected cases of the new coronavirus to a quarantine hospital in Matrouh.
