Cairo – Mubasher: US Noble Energy and Israel’s Delek Drilling are in talks to buy the rights of using the pipeline of the East Mediterranean Gas (EMG) to supply gas to customers in Egypt, according to Reuters.
The partners in the Israeli Tamar and Leviathan natural gas fields did not mention any further details; however, Delek said that signing a binding agreement was not certain.
Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi previously said that the Egyptian government is not a part of the signed deal by an Egyptian private company to import natural gas from Israel.
Last month, Israel’s Delek Group announced that the partners in Israel’s Tamar and Leviathan offshore gas fields have signed 10-year agreements to export around 64 billion cubic metres of gas to Egypt’s Dolphinus Holdings at a value of $15 billion.
