Non-oil sector grows rapidly as Expo 2020 approaches – analysts

Dubai – Mubasher: Non-oil sector in the UAE is expected to grow 4% to 5% in 2018, given the increasing number of new projects before the inauguration of Expo 2020 Dubai.

The UAE’s Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) registered a major improvement in non-oil private sector during November, Emirates NBD Bank reported.

The significant growth of the UAE’s non-oil sector confirmed that the UAE was sustaining its plan to diversify the country’s economy, Tariq Qaqish, asset manager at MENA Corp told Mubasher.

The expected high growth of non-oil sector will depend on Expo 2020 projects, Qaqish added.

Expo 2020 Dubai will be held from 20 October 2020 to 10 April 2021.
