Riyadh – Mubasher: Number of Saudi Arabia's factories which started production during the fourth quarter declined 58.2% year-on-year, according to the Ministry of Energy, Industry and Mineral Resources’ data.
Facilities which became operational in the fourth quarter amounted to 56, down from 134 factories in the same period a year earlier, the data revealed.
Nineteen of these factories are located in Makkah, while Riyadh and Eastern Province have 15 and 11 factories, respectively.
The capital of these factories levelled down 35.1% to SAR 7.3 billion versus SAR 11.24 billion during the year-ago period.
Workers’ number at the factories retreated 67.2% to 3,720 during Q4-17, compared to 11,340 in the corresponding period the year before.
