Mubasher: The number of newly registered companies in Qatar declined in September by 42.5% compared to the month before.
A report by the Ministry of Economy and Commerce issued on Sunday showed that the number of new companies in September amounted to 1,015, compared to around 1,766 in August.
Limited liability companies dominated 60% of the new registrations, followed by sole proprietorships with 26%, individual institutions with 13%, and finally foreign companies with 1%.
The construction sector also had the biggest share with 167 companies, while fish, meat, and poultry had the smallest one with only 23 companies.
The number of issued or modified commercial licenses last month reached 4,300, including 735 new issuances, 507 changes, and 3,100 renewals.
As per the report, the number of closed companies also decreased by 34.2% to 212, down from 322 in August.
