OCL inks $100m contract for 650 MW power plant

Cairo – Mubasher: Orascom Construction Limited (OCL) said Monday that it has signed a contract worth $100 million to build a steam turbine power plant with a capacity of 650 megawatts (MW) in Walideya, Assiut governorate.

The company is currently setting up a number of power plants with a total capacity of 11,000 MW, including the two largest gas-fired combined cycle power plants in the world, according to a statement to the stock market.

OCL had earlier posted a growth of 21.6% in its profits for the first quarter of fiscal year 2017 to $1.1 million.
