Kuwait – Mubasher: Boursa Kuwait’s indices saw varying performance at the closing of Thursday’s session, with the price index surging 1.28% or 77.27 points to 6,107.68 points, while the weighted index added 0.33%, whereas the Kuwait 15 index slipped 0.03%.
Nine sectors ended in the green, led by oil and gas, which gained 2.9% backed four stocks, headed by Energy House which jumped 5.43%, while the financial services sector increased 1.51%.
On the flipside, 3 sectors ended down, led by the consumer services sector which lost 0.12%, pressured by Oula Fuel Marketing’s 3.2% loss.
Turnover fell to KWD 36.89 million on Thursday compared to KWD 39.12 million, while traded volume dropped to 502.2 million shares from 605.55 million shares the day before.
Ithmaar Holding’s stock was the most active in terms of traded volume after 33.9 million shares were exchanged. The stock grew 5.88%, while Human Soft recorded the highest turnover of KWD 5.4 million. The stock increased 3.47% at the end of the session.
The bourse opened Thursday also on a mixed performance, with the price index and the weighted index adding 0.38% and 0.04%, respectively, whereas the Kuwait 15 index lost 0.16%.
