Oil price fall to slash Egypt’s subsidy bill to EGP55bn

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s fuel subsidy bill for the current fiscal year will be reduced to EGP 55 billion, from EGP 61.7 billion, due to the decline in global oil prices, said Minister of Petroleum Tarek El-Molla.

The government is adopting a package of plans and steps aimed to reform The country’s energy subsidy system within a period of five to six years, according to the minister.

He also said an integrated plan is being implemented to reach a safe and balanced mixture of energy in ten years.
