Oil products make up 91% of Kuwaiti exports in H1-19

Mubasher: Oil products have accounted for 91.1% of Kuwaiti exports during the first six months of 2019, according to data released on Wednesday by the Central Statistical Bureau (CSB).

The value of the GCC country’s oil exports declined by 0.2% to KWD 9.26 billion ($30.53 billion) in H1-19, from KWD 9.28 billion ($30.59 billion) in the year-ago period.

During the six-month period ended 30 June, oil crude exports went down to 366.57 million barrels, compared to 369.47 million barrels in H1-18.

Kuwaiti oil exports decreased by 15.4% year-on-year to KWD 1.39 billion in June, the CSB’s data showed.

The trade surplus of Kuwait grew by 1.3% year-on-year to KWD 5.05 billion ($16.7 billion) during the first six months of 2019.

The oil-rich country’s trade exchange reached KWD 2.32 billion in June, compared to KWD 2.56 billion the year before.
