Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) sagged on Sunday, continuing the bear run to the thirteenth successive session, mainly pressured by financial stocks.
The main index MSM30 fell by 0.24% or 13.91 points to close at 5,781.90 points. Sharia Index steadied at 905.99 points.
A total of 7.74 million shares changed hands in 435 transactions at turnover reaching OMR 1.84 million.
The financial sector was the sole decliner, shedding 0.86%, while the industrial and services sectors rose by 0.12% and 0.16%, in a row.
Out of the 35 companies traded today, 9 moved up, 11 moved down and 15 others remained flat.
Al Anwar Ceramic stock was the best performer, with a rise of 1.88%, while Oman & Emirates led decliners with a drop of 4.04%.
Bank Nizwa recorded the biggest traded volume of 1.6 million shares, while Ooredoo came on top with a traded value reaching OMR 243,300.
