Mubasher: Total direct premiums paid to insurance companies in 2015 rose by 11.7% to OMR 442.81 million, compared to OMR 396.52 million in 2014, according to a report released on Sunday by Oman’s National Centre for Statistical Information (NCSI).
Vehicles insurance premiums on vehicles valued at OMR 162.68 million, premiums for life insurance amounted to OMR 52.96 million
Marine insurance premiums reached OMR 14.227 million during 2015, versus OMR 12.113 million in 2015.
The insurance firms registered 1.436 million policies in 2015, vehicle insurance constituted 85.6% with 1.23 million policies, total number of life insurance policies reached 35.188 (2.4%), property insurance policies amounted to 16,313 (1.1%).
