Mubasher: Oman has ranked first in the Arab world for the second year in a row, 31st in the world in the index of starting a business, according to the World Bank’s report of Doing Business 2018.
The Omani National Competitiveness Office explained that Oman ranked first in the Gulf region at trading across borders index with (79.39) points.
Last year, the Omani government took some measurements to encourage investments, including the cancellation of the company's capital requirement at the beginning of registration, the cancellation of Article 5 and Article 11 of the commercial agencies law, and the provision of 76 e-services through the invest portal, as reported by Oman News Agency (ONA).
The Sultanate also ranked third in the GCC countries in the Resolving insolvency index.
The report indicated that Oman ranked 11th in the world in the Paying taxes index, advancing from the 12th place last year.
Oman ranked third in the Gulf and advanced to the sixty-first rank in the world from the sixty-ninth last year in the electricity index.
