Oman’s Producer Price Index drops 13.9% in Q2

Mubasher: Oman’s Producer Price Index (PPI) fell by 13.9% at the end of the second quarter of 2015, compared with the percentage recorded in the year-ago period, according to recent data of National Center for Statistics and information (NCSI).

Oil and gas prices recorded the biggest fall of 15.7% year-on-year, while non-oil products declined 3.6%.

The prices of mining, electricity and water products were 1.4% lower, compared with the previous quarter of 2014.

Meanwhile, the prices of fish, fruits, vegetables and oils dropped 4.5%, and the dairy prices fell 10.7%. In addition, the readymade clothes, shoes and textile edged down 0.2%.
