Mubasher: Oman’s consumer price index (CPI) rose in July by 1.3% year-on-year, according to a report issued Wednesday by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The report also showed a month-on-month increase of 0.3% in the Sultanate’s CPI in July.
The report attribute the rise to the increasing prices of most of the leading groups; as prices of housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels group rose by 0.88%, transportation costs grew by 7.87% and prices of furnishing, household appliances and maintenance leapt by 0.43%.
Prices of health and education also went up by 0.94% and 3.03% respectively.
Oman’s inflation rose in June by 1.53% year-on-year.
