Mubasher: Oman’s consumer price index (CPI) for January rose 0.2% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month, according to Oman News Agency citing a report by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The y/y rise was attributed the increasing prices of most of the leading groups, as housing, water, electricity, gas and other leapt by 0.43%, transportation (+1.19%), furnishing, household appliances and maintenance (+0.8%), education (+3.03%), healthcare (+1.46%), restaurants and hotels (+0.16%) and clothing and footwear (+0.09%).
However, the prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages group declined by 0.91%, followed by miscellaneous goods and services (-0.4%), telecom (-0.12%) and recreation and culture (-0.19%).
