Mubasher: Oman’s consumer price index (CPI) rose in June by 1.53% year-on-year and 0.9% month-on-month, according to a report issued Saturday by the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The report attribute the rise to the increasing prices of most of the leading groups; as housing, water, electricity and fuels group saw a price rise of 0.89%, transportation group (+8.78%), furnishing, household appliances and maintenance (+0.1%).
The prices of foodstuff and non-alcoholic beverages also grew by 1.66%, and the clothing and footwear prices rose 0.36%.
The Sultanate’s CPI rose in May 2016 by 1.14% compared to the same month of 2015.
