Omani 10M real estate deals leap 41%

Mubasher: Real estate deals in the Sultanate of Oman rose 40.7% by the end of October as the traded value of real estate activities came to OMR 3.42 billion, according to the National Center for Statistics and Information.

The collected fees for all legal actions reached OMR 40.4 million, with an increase of 18.5%, the traded value of sales also leapt by 2.3% to OMR 1.02 billion.

However, the number of sales fell to 66,540 contracts in the first ten months of this year, compared to 68,400 contracts in the same period last year.   

Mortgage contracts jumped by 67.4% to OMR 2.37 billion for the period, versus OMR 1.4 billion a year ago.

Also, swap contracts recorded a 91.3% increase to OMR 17.6 million by the end of October, compared to OMR 9.2 million in the same period of 2014.

The number of swap contracts leapt too by 17.8% to 1,130 in the January-October period this year, against 962 contracts last year.
