Mubasher: The main index of Muscat Securities Market (MSM) dropped 2.03% or 116.23 points to reach 5,609.97 points by the week ended 6 October as compared to 5,726.2 points in the previous week.
The market’s sectors saw a grouped decline headed by the financial segment which lost 1.77%.
HSBC Oman topped the winners with a growth of 4.95%, while Bank Dhofar led the losers with a fall of 8.85%.
During this week, trading volume shrank 72.4% to 56.39 million shares as compared to 204.37 million shares. Liquidity decreased 54% to reach OMR 13.82 million as compared with OMR 30.02 million in the past week.
Bank Muscat recorded the highest liquidity of OMR 3.69 million, being the most active stock on which 9.03 million shares were traded.
Market cap retreated 0.61% to OMR 17.234 billion ($44.61 billion) this week from OMR 17.340 billion ($44.89 billion) a week ago.
