Mubasher: Oman’s private deposits at commercial banks rose 8.1% to OMR 11.78 billion by the end of October 2015, versus OMR 10.9 billion in the same period last year, according to a report by the Central Bank of Oman (CBO).
Released on Sunday, the report showed that the deposits’ total value comprised of term deposits of OMR 3.23 billion, saving deposits of OMR 4.3 billion and demand deposits of OMR 3.9 billion.
An amount of OMR 10.86 billion of the total deposits was in local currencies, and OMR 952.2 million in foreign currencies.
