Mubasher: The main index of Muscat Securities Market, MSM 30, gained 0.68% or 35.93 points this week, reaching the level of 5,326.67 points, against a decline of 2.11% or 113.77 points to 5,290.74 points.
The Shariah index also leapt 1.02% or 8.46 points to 834.58 points, compared to 826.12 points.
Trading volume increased 27.7% to 85.4 million shares, versus 66.85 million shares exchanged last week.
Turnover rose 31.1% to OMR 18.76 million ($48.7 million) from OMR 14.31 million ($37.16 million).
The market value reached OMR 16.289 billion ($42.30 billion).
The financial sector advanced 1.21%, while the services and industrial fell 0.24% and 0.1% respectively.
Nizwa Bank topped gainers after adding 5.97%, whereas Al Hassan Engineering was the worst performer after falling 10.29%.
Muscat Bank was the most active share with a trading volume of 14.16 million shares worth OMR 5.7 million ($14.8 million).
