Mubasher: The Muscat Securities Market (MSM) closed Wednesday at the level of 5,342.29 points after falling 0.39% or 20.92 points.
The Sharia index also declined 0.33% or 2.77 points to 829.44 points.
Trading volume reached 10.75 million shares exchanged through 591 transactions, with a turnover of OMR 1.64 million ($4.259 million).
The financial, industrial and services sectors dropped collectively by 0.94%, 0.59% and 0.16% respectively.
Out of 49 companies, 26 shares closed in red topped by Al Batinah Development and Investment Holding with a fall of 5.33%, while six others closed in green headed by United Power with a 2.43% increase.
Bank Nizwa made the biggest trading volume activity with 3.19 million traded shares, whereas Muscat Bank recorded the highest trading value activity with a liquidity of OMR 287,000 ($745,454).
MSM 30 and the Sharia index fell yesterday by 0.61% and 0.28% respectively.
