Omani shares rise to 14-week high

Mubasher: Muscat Securities Market (MSM) main index ended Thursday’s session 0.83% or 45.76 points higher at 5,533.58 points; its highest level in 14 weeks.

Similarly, the Sharia Index rose by 1.1% or 9.26 points to end at 853.21 points; its highest level since mid-January.

Today’s traded volume amounted to 36.21 million shares, exchanged in 1,110 transactions at turnover reaching OMR 5.62 million.

Sectors were in green, topped by financial (+1.01%), then services (+0.44%) and industrial (+0.41%).

Out of the 48 companies traded today, 19 moved higher spearheaded by Bank Nizwa (+6.67%), while 10 others moved lower led by Port Services (-3.89%).

Bank Nizwa came on top in terms of traded value and volume, upon exchanging 14.72 million shares at OMR 1.17 million.
