Omniyat obtains AED 150m facility for Opus hotel

Dubai – Mubasher: Property developer Omniyat announced that it has secured an AED 150 million ($40 million) financing from Mashreq Bank for the fit-out of a hotel in The Opus, designed by renowned Iraqi-British architect Zaha Hadid, in Downtown Dubai.

The Dubai-based ultra-luxury developer, which owns a development portfolio of as much as AED 16 billion, will use the facility to complete the fit-out of the landmark hotel to be operated by the lifestyle hotel brand ME by Meliá, Arabian Business reported on Tuesday.

“Bringing Zaha Hadid’s groundbreaking vision of the future to life has been a momentous journey and we wish to continue her legacy through The Opus,” Arabian Business added, quoting Madih Amjad, chairman and CEO of Omniyat, as saying.

 The buildings, located in Business Bay, are comprised of two glass towers connected by a ground-floor podium and a glass and steel bridge, including up to 56,000 square metres of office space, a club, several restaurants, and the hotel.
