Ooredoo, Doha Insurance drive Qatari bourse to green

Doha – Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange’s main index ended Monday’s session with a rise of 1.29% or 125 points to the level of 9,855.32 points.

Turnover increased 174.8% to QAR 308.49 million from QAR 112.27 million on Sunday.

Trading volume reached 7.83 million shares, compared to 3.87 million shares exchanged yesterday.

The bourse’s sectors advanced collectively, topped by telecom with a growth of 3.77% as Ooredoo moved 4.4% up.

The insurance sector came second in the green list after rising 2.83%, supported by an increase of 6.32% in Doha Insurance.

The banking and consumer goods and service sectors made the lowest gains with a 0.74% rise, as Qatar First Bank (QFG) topped losers, while Islamic Holding was best performing share.

QFG, the largest-traded stock, saw 1.06 million shares being exchanged at QAR 14.45 million, and fell 1.53%.

Meanwhile, Medicare Group made the highest liquidity, generating QAR 43.66 million through the exchange of 464,160 shares. The stock grew 9.94%.

The bourse’s main index declined yesterday to its lowest level since three months.
