Ooredoo, Ericsson sign MoU to develop 5G

Qatar – Mubasher: Ooredoo Group and Ericsson have signed a memorandum of understanding to develop 5G network, according to Qatar News Agency (QNA).

Ooredoo and Ericsson will develop use cases, requirements and deployment scenarios for 5G. The MoU enables Ooredoo and Ericsson to evaluate key 5G components in a controlled environment

The MoU was signed by Ahmed Yousef Al-Derbesti, COO of Ooredoo Group and Jan Wäreby, Senior Vice President Head of Sales of Ericsson, in the presence of top senior executives from both companies at Ericsson’s headquarters in Sweden.

Sheikh Saud Bin Nasser Al Thani, Group CEO, Ooredoo, said: “Ooredoo is striving to support our customers’ activities in an increasingly digital, connected world and we are determined to be at the cutting-edge of network technologies.
