Ooredoo Kuwait’s Q1 profits decline 29%

Mubasher: National Mobile Telecommunications (Ooredoo) reported a decrease of 29.1% in profits during the first quarter of 2018 compared to the same period in the prior year.

Earnings declined to KWD 9.17 million ($30.58 million) in Q1-18 from KWD 12.93 million ($43.12 million) in Q1-17, according to a bourse statement on Tuesday.

Ooredoo clarified that the achieved net profit comes in line with the group’s performance.

In a separate bourse filing, Ooredoo noted that new board members’ representatives were elected, chaired by Saud Nasser Faleh Nasser Al Thani and his deputy is Abdullah Ahmad Al Zaman.
