Ooredoo posts higher profits in Q2

Doha-Mubasher: Ooredoo posted a 16.4% rise year-on-year in its profits for the second quarter of 2016, according to a bourse filing.

Profits reached QAR 583 million ($160 million) in Q1-16, compared to QAR 501 million ($137.5 million) in Q1-15.

The telecom provider posted a 46% growth in profits to QAR 1.46 billion in H1-16, compared to QAR 1 billion in H1-15.

Total revenues declined 0.81% to QAR 15.91 billion in H1-16, compared to QAR 16.04 billion in H1-15.

“We have seen some good operational improvements across our businesses during the first six months of the year. Both revenue and EBITDA were robust for the period at QAR 16 billion and QAR 6.5 billion respectively,” CEO, Saud bin Nasser Al Thani, said commenting on the results.
