Cairo – Mubasher: A consortium of Orascom Construction (OC), Arab Contractors, and the Egyptian Armed Forces Engineering Authority will implement a new highway at a value of EGP 3.5 billion, governor of Southern Sinai Khaled Fouda said in an interview on DMC TV.
The highway project will allow passengers to travel from Cairo to Sharm El Sheikh in only four hours, Fouda added.
The Egyptian government is planning to inaugurate a water desalination plant in March, at a cost of EGP 450 million, he noted.
Given that OC last announced that its consortium with France’s Engie and Japan’s Toyota Tsusho Corporation for a build-own-operate (BOO) 250-megawatt (MW) wind farm in Egypt’s Ras Ghareb has reached a “financial close”.
