UAE – Mubasher: The volume of alumina production at Emirates Global Aluminium’s (EGA) Al Taweelah alumina refinery reached 600,000 tonnes since April 2019, according to the Emirates News Agency (WAM).
Alumina production at the refinery is expected to hit over one million tonnes by the end of 2019. The refinery’s output is projected to reach around two million tonnes of alumina per year, once it reached its full capacity.
"We have a world-class team operating EGA’s alumina refinery, and they are making great progress on this journey,” CEO of EGA Abdulla Jassem bin Kalban said.
In 2018, EGA produced more than 2.6 million tonnes of cast metal. The company plays a key role in making the GCC country’s the fifth largest aluminium-producing nation in the world.
