Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt’s Ministry of Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities has completed the execution of 214 drinking water and wastewater projects in 2018, the housing minister said.
The projects included 40 drinking water projects with a capacity of 1.5 million cubic metres of water per day at EGP 5.2 billion in investments, Mostafa Madbouly said in a statement released on Monday.
As for wastewater projects these included 174 projects, of which 141 were executed in villages at EGP 3.5 billion in cost, while the remaining 33 projects were carried out in major cities at a cost of EGP 4.9 billion, the minister revealed.
Earlier in December, the Holding Co for Water and Waste Water (HCWW), chaired by prime minister and housing minister Mostafa Madbouly, approved the estimated budget for the firm and its subsidiaries for the fiscal year 2018/2019.
