Riyadh – Mubasher: Rabigh Refining and Petrochemical Company (Petro Rabigh) on Tuesday announced that it has begun operating all of its basic units that were halted on interrupted power and steam supplies.
The two polyethylene units were not affected by the power cuts, the company said in a bourse filing, adding that they continue to be operational.
The financial impact for the period where power supplies were halted is estimated at SAR 124 million and will be seen in Petro Rabigh’s financials for Q2-16, according to current petrochemical prices, the refining company.
The Saudi refinery announced on 18 May the sudden interruption of power and steam supplies to Rabigh Arabian Water and Electricity Company (RAWEC), which resulted in the interruption of several of the company’s complex labs.
