Cairo- Mubasher: The Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum (MOP) announced that Belayim Petroleum Company (Petrobel) has affirmed a new natural gas discovery in El Qaraa area in Nile Delta.
Up to 20 million cubic feet is expected to be produced daily from this well which is currently at its final stages of preparation.
The drilling of the exploratory well located in El Qaraa- Northern East 1 has uncovered the gas-carrying layers. Started in May 2019, the drilling has been executed at the lowest possible cost, the ministry disclosed on Tuesday.
The tests on the exploratory well have shown initial output rates up to 17 million cubic feet daily; this production will be reached once the well is linked to the output facilities at El Qaraa and Abu Madi gas processing plant, the ministry further added.
The new well will be ready as soon as production facilities are linked to it, the ministry noted.
