Power producer EETC draws up 2 contracts worth EGP 125m

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Electricity Transmission Company (EETC) signed two contracts worth EGP 125 million for upgrading the local electricity grid.

According to the first contract, which is valued at EGP4 million ($31.5 million), EETC will supply and install six transformers having different capacities within 12 months.

Ten other transformers will be supplied by the electricity producer and distributor within five or six months for EGP 93 million, as part of the second deal.

These projects are mainly designed to address the repetitive power outage phenomena in summer. 

According to allAfrica, these agreements were sealed by EETC Chairman Gamal Abdul Rahim, in partnership with State Grid Corporation of China, on the sidelines of a signing ceremony, attended by the presidents of Egypt and China, in which 21 agreements and memorandums of understanding have been concluded.
