Cairo- Mubasher: Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi approved an agreement with the European Investment Bank (EIB) on the integrated depollution project of Kitchener Drain.
The decision, published on the Gazette on Thursday, obliges the EIB to offer around EUR 213.900 million worth of loan unto the Egyptian government.
The agreement was signed at the EIB’s headquarters in Luxembourg by Egypt's investment and international cooperation minister Sahar Nasr and the EIB President Werner Hoyer on 16 October 2018, while the project aims to depollute Kitchener Drain in the Nile Delta area through investing in domestic wastewater collection and treatment, solid waste management, as well as rehabilitation of the drain’s infrastructure.
