Profit-taking drags down DFM on Wednesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) has seen a bearish trend on Wednesday as some of the blue-chip stocks saw a wave of profit-taking.

The DFM’s general index closed today’s trading session 0.28% down to 2,559.7 points.

The consumer goods sector led the losers with a 1.7% decrease as DXB Entertainments’ stock fell by the same percentage, followed by the services sector which dipped 1.45% when Amanat lost 1.9%.

Similarly, the real estate sector slid 1.06% as Arabtec dropped 3.3% to AED 1.48 and the insurance sector slipped 0.9% after Salama Insurance fell 1.85%.

Meanwhile, the telecommunication and banks sector inched down 0.2% and 0.13%, respectively.

Trading volume amounted to nearly 153.5 million shares exchanged through 3,134 transactions at a turnover of AED 212.77 million.
