Profit-taking weighs on DFM Thursday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Thursday’s trading session on a negative note as some of the blue-chip stocks saw profit-taking.

The DFM’s general index slid 5.05 points, or 0.18%, to 2,850.69 points.

Trading volume amounted to 245.627 million shares exchanged at a turnover of AED 250.812 million through 3,879 transactions.

Market capitalisation shed AED 927 million and closed the session at AED 369.562 billion.

The consumer goods and the investment and financial services sectors rose by 2.36% and 0.75%, respectively.

Similarly, the real estate sector went up by 0.32%, while the services sector remained stable.

On the other hand, the banks sector was the sole decliner, tumbling 0.47%.

Emaar Properties, up 0.38% to AED 5.23, was the most heavily traded stock with a turnover of AED 12.832 million.

Moreover, Emirates NBD’s stock fell 0.85% to AED 11.70 and Damac Properties slipped 0.61% to AED 0.98.
