Profit-taking weighs on DFM Tuesday

Dubai – Mubasher: The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) closed Tuesday in the red, dragged down by quick profit-taking on some leading stocks.

The DFMGI slipped 0.3% or 9.6 points and closed the midweek’s session at 2,955.95 points.

Turnover more than halved to AED 136.19 million on Tuesday from AED 344.47 million on Monday, while traded volume shrunk to 75.55 million shares versus 265.2 million shares exchanged in the previous session.

Dar Al Takaful and Drake and Scull International (DSI) led the DFM’s fallers, sliding 4.6% and 2.7%, respectively, while Emaar Malls tumbled 1.9% to AED 2.04 and Emaar Development decreased 1.73% to AED 5.1.

Moreover, du shed 0.6% to AED 5.13, while Dubai Islamic Bank and Emirates NBD decreased 0.98% and 0.5% to AED 5.03 and AED 10.55, respectively. Dubai Investments was also down 0.98% to AED 2.02.
