Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian government is not planning to raise the prices of the Public Transport Authority's buses in Cairo at present, a top official said Saturday.
The statement made by General Mohamed El Sheikh, the general secretary of the Cairo governorate, comes after the government announced a fuel price hike.
Earlier on Saturday, the government raised the prices of fuel, while petroleum minister Tarek El Molla stated that this price increase would save the government around EGP 50 billion in its general budget.
Raising the prices of transport tickets will come at a later time, El Sheikh said, citing the financial statuses of Egyptian citizens.
