Doha – Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange (QE) saw a negative performance at the end of Tuesday's session, weighted down by real estate and industrial sectors.
The general index fell 0.38%, or 39.62 points, to 10,304.77 points.
The real estate topped losing sector and slid 1.75% after Ezdan Holding and Mazaya Qatar lost 2.45% and 0.9%, respectively.
The telecoms sector went down 1.5%, on the back of Vodafone Qatar and Ooredoo which decreased 1.6% and 1.48%, respectively.
The industrials sector shed 0.25% as Qatari Investors Group fell 1.54%.
On the other hand, the banks and financial services sector grew 0.24% after Qatar First Bank added 2.36%.
The insurance sector led the best performers and increased 0.30%, backed by Al Kahleej Takaful which rose 1.11%.
Trading volume levelled up to 7 million shares, compared to 6.85 million shares in Monday's session; trading value also shrank to QAR 154.8 million after QAR 159 million in the previous session.
Vodafone Qatar was the most active in terms of the traded volume of 1.43 million shares, while Barwa Real Estate was the most active in terms of the turnover with QAR 22.6 million.
