Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange (QE) rose this week, supported by the gains of five market sectors.
The general index increased by 2.55% to 8,792.91 points, adding 218.92 points.
The market capital went up 3.02% to QAR 484.73 billion, compared to QAR 470.52 billion last week.
Market gains were supported by the decision of Qatar Petroleum Company to increase the limit of foreign ownership to 49%.
As for the market sectors performance, banks, goods, and telecom increased by 4.4%, 3.6%, and 2.4%.
Similarly, the industrial sector increased by 2.3%, followed by real estate with 0.29%.
On the other hand, transport and insurance declined by 2.3%, and 0.01%, respectively.
Traded values increased by 23.03% to QAR 4.27 billion, with volumes rising 34.3% to 57.94 million shares, and the total number of transactions growing 4.64% to nearly 17,700, compared to 16,900 transactions last week.
