Doha - Mubasher: Qatar Stock Exchange’s (QE) benchmark index gained at the opening of Monday’s session, backed by the rise of the insurance and banking sectors.
The general index grew 0.13% or 12.27 points, to stand at 9817.88 points, up from 9805.61 points recorded on Sunday.
The insurance sector advanced 0.51%, on the back of Qatar Insurance which added 0.69%.
QE’s banks and financial services sector increased 0.39% after the rise of Qatar National Bank (QNB), Al Rayan and Qatar Islamic Bank by 0.87%, 0.30% and 0.52%, respectively.
The consumer goods and services index also gained 0.44%, followed by and industrials with 0.19%, while transportation, telecoms and real estate declined.
The trading volume reached 292,752 shares, with a value exceeding QAR 10 million, executed through 199 transactions.
