Mubasher: The Qatar Exchange recorded gains this week, supported by the positive performance by five market sectors led by banks.
The general index increased by 1.26% or 127.60 points, closing at the level of 10,280.96 points.
Market capitalization rose 1.47% as it ended the week at QAR 578.5 billion.
Positive financial results posted by blue chips helped boost the Qatari bourse, as the 45 listed companies saw a rise in profits by a collective 10.9% year-on-year growth to QAR 10.2 billion.
The banks sector rose 2.95%, followed by real estate, telecom, insurance, and industry, with 2.95%, 1.17%, 0.71%, 0.33%, and 0.31%, respectively.
As for the stocks’ performance, 22 stocks recorded gains, while two remained unchanged.
Traded values rose by 4.37% to QAR 994.1 million, compared with QAR 952.5 million last year.
On the other hand, traded volumes decreased by 21.7% to 25.6 million shares, from 32.7 million in the week before.
