Mubasher: The Qatar Financial Markets Authority (QFMA) has revealed its unified rules for funds and a new governance code for funds listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) for consultation to all concerned parties.
“We continue to strengthen our regulations to meet investors’ needs along with adopting the best international practices and their local needs in respect of investment funds and their governance,” Nasser Ahmad Al Shaibi, the CEO of QFMA, said.
The decision is aimed at promoting and developing the Qatari capital market, in addition to strengthening the elements that attract both local and international funds to be listed on QSE, according to the authority's recent statement.
“The review of listing rules and governance code will provide a clear framework for local and international fund management companies to be listed on QSE and encourage the development of asset management in the State of Qatar,” Al Shaibi added.
